Overpriced and disappointing. Will not return

The room was tired. cracked lamp shades, peeling paint and a gap around the door I could literally fit my hand down. I’m fairly certain it doesn’t comply with fire regulations. Breakfast was served basically in the lobby. on arrival we waited to try even get in the car park, there was only 1 member of staff and after walking to reception then walking back to the car to gain entry we went to our room.

Never ever have a meal here!

We ordered prawn and smoked salmon cocktail, which at £18:95 seemed a little expensive. What it comprised of was a small piece of smoked salmon and about 8 baby shrimps. ( Prawns they were not and even calling them shrimps would be a stretch.) All on a bed of lettuce. The chips that came with the main course were half cooked, tasteless and difficult to swallow. The linguine had almost the equivalent of two sliced chilli peppers hidden it which completely took away the delicate flavour of the crab

Well below par.

Disappointing. My favourite place to go in Blackburn and today was not very nicè the chicken Kiev was dry and the garlic tasted bitter there was th salt already on the chips then the gammon was placed on the chips witch is char grilled so the gammon went really salty and the chips went black . Plus was quite cold. by the time I got table checked it was too late and seemed pointless complaining .

Won't be back!

Booked a table here a week prior for the first time available, 5pm. Bearing in mind I have a child that needs to do the whole routine for school, we walk in at 4:51pm to be told that it will be at least 15-20 minutes before we get our table. The poor waitress was apologetic, but the manager was not and the girl who told us the bad news at the till couldn’t care less . We used to visit this pub regularly, but this is the second time in a row we’ve had an issue with them.

Terrible food

Food was awful , chips couldn't even eat them , gammon just fat , VERY disappointed, no sorry from staff was refunded on the gammon Won't be going again

POOR QUALITY SERVICE

The service was very poor and I was not impressed with the quality. Waiting staff were lounging around and watched me eat which made me feel very uncomfortable. Felt like I was rushed out of the restaurant and given the bill without me even asking for it! WOULD NOT RETURN

Disappointing once again

Alarm bells should have rung large sign outside advertising for chefs, service could not fault, starters pork pie and a garlic bread hot ok. Main courses not so good chips more like roast potatoes, cheese and onion pie Luke warm in middle very uninviting. ploughmans appeared to have been around a while ham dried up. Ham and eggs nothing special very salty.

This place is a joke!

Seriously if you want a shocking evening meal and a rude customer service then this is the place for you. A colleague of mine was waiting 2 hours for his meal and when confronted the manager he was told they was out of steak and is there nothing else he likes off the menu. Seriously for a four star hotel it's a joke the rooms are OK but seriously go somewhere else as this is far from a four star hotel I would class it as a 2 star and thats being generous.

Family birthday

The staff were very helpful on arrival by holding the door open as some of our party had mobility issues. Very welcoming. Busy pub but staff very efficient without rushing guests to choose food or drink. Excellent food. Good sized portions. Had salmon and prawn cocktail. Duck chorizo salad and goats cheese parcel. Mains were beef and mushrooms pot pie and thai salmon salad. Very tasty.
