Really good value

Held our wedding reception at this venue. Nothing was too much trouble and all ran smoothly, from the timing of the food courses being served, even allowing breaks when needed as the portion sizes were generous. Food was all lovely and commented on by all. Big thank you to Tom, Mark and all the staff.

Really disappointing

Unfortunately we were really disappointed with the quality and service. The meals arrived promptly but both mine and my partner’s main course weren’t cooked properly. In my case the chips served with fish were under cooked and inedible. My partner ordered a mushroom sandwich was overcooked to a sloppy tasteless melee. Fish and chips is usually a pub food staple and whilst the fish served wasn’t as bad as the chips it wasn’t great either and it shouldn’t be so difficult to get right.

NEVER AGAIN !

To our surprise the table behind (that had ordered the exact same meals) received their food before us! We had to wait an additional 10 minutes for our food to arrive, which was okay but nothing to shout about. We were then asked if we’d like to look at the dessert menu which we accepted, after 15 minutes of waiting for them to come I had to ask the manager for them !! Very poor all round from all the staff ! Unimpressed with the dissatisfying service and will NOT RETURN.

Disappointing.

The single room was dreadful. No chair to sit on. No shelving in bathroom to put toiletries on and the shower smelt of cat pee. Not a pleasant room to be in . Certainly not four star. It smelt awful, staff put bleach down the shower drain. Smell came straight back. Better rooms in a Premier Inn. Breakfast let down by having to wait too long fir your breakfast to come when ordered.

Well below par.

Disappointing. My favourite place to go in Blackburn and today was not very nicè the chicken Kiev was dry and the garlic tasted bitter there was th salt already on the chips then the gammon was placed on the chips witch is char grilled so the gammon went really salty and the chips went black . Plus was quite cold. by the time I got table checked it was too late and seemed pointless complaining .

I will never visit again

I was very disappointed with food I had the turkey off the special board and it was the worst turkey I have ever had the sprouts where undercooked the parsnips where hard and the roast potatoes where hard I got a little pot of gravy which was tasteless the pig in blankets where pink and a little ring of stuffing it all was disgusting and I wasn't the only one who complained about there food around the table one even complained that much they got there money back im not one too complain so didn't

Awful experience

From 2hour waits for food to rude waiting in staff it became laughable, one evening I saw two people come back into the hotel and sit down and eat a Mac Donald’s and KFC both on different tables in a 4star rated hotel. I Suspect either the staff are terrified of the chef or the staff don’t communicate with the chef. After all is said and done despite the lovely decor I would avoid this place if you are looking for a 4star stay it’s more like faulty towers than a four star hotel and such a shame

Expensive and poor quality

Firstly we were not allowed to pick our own seats and were shown to a dark corner, the pub was very cold and when the meal arrived I was presented with undercooked veg and slices of turkey which had no taste at all and looked very much like the thinly sliced turkey you get in a supermarket, in fact I have had tastier turkey from a supermarket. The tastiest part of the meal were the mashed carrots. Felt it was money wasted and I will definitely not be eating here again. Don't usually write review
