Not good enough ?

We had been to a canal gala and drove here for a late Sunday lunch. We were met by a lady who said we could sit at any table that hadn`t got a reserved notice (we are not stupid) and she would follow us through with menus. We found a nice table for two and waited and waited for the lady to appear. We were completely ignored and yet people arriving after us were shown the specials board and given menus. We eventually left without either food or drink.

Popped in & so glad we did!

We were passing through and saw this fantastic building and were curious as it looked amazing. We were not disappointed at all. I had the Steak and ale pie and although don’t normally get excited by a pie I had to complement their chef as it was perfect! My wife was not disappointed by their burgers either. Lovely Staff, great service, not rushed but not too laid back. I would 100% recommend to any travellers looking for a drink and a bite to eat in Oswaldtwistle (I hope I spelt that right!)

Well worth a visit!

Excellent food, excellent service and value for money. The menu is simple but with plenty of choice, portion sizes generous but not over facing and the food is good honest home cooked food by a chef who obviously knows what he is doing. It’s a long time since I’ve eaten at the Bay and I will be going back for more.

Disappointing evening meal

We had a good welcome into the pub and the waitress was very nice and informative . The starters were very nice but when it came to the main course it was a big disappointment. The fillet steak was tasteless, the potatoes par cooked and the duck was tough and raw. While we there the couple next to us sent a steak back also.

Well situated but otherwise poor.

Room service poor- some food undercooked. Requested a ground floor room and had this confirmed by the hotel. Arrived to be given a room on floor 3 with no option to move. Room and communal areas very dated. Various stains in room. Communication with the spa very poor. Not enough staff at breakfast causing delays and inaccuracies in orders for group. For the cost of the room I would expect a better standard. Noise from other rooms was distracting.

Regular guest but never again!

Confused that after requesting a quiet room - I am next to a noisy lift. Reception seem to think hotel is busy but rooms still available on line, restaurant and car park not at all busy. Why would they ignore a reasonable request from a regular visitor?

I will never visit again

I was very disappointed with food I had the turkey off the special board and it was the worst turkey I have ever had the sprouts where undercooked the parsnips where hard and the roast potatoes where hard I got a little pot of gravy which was tasteless the pig in blankets where pink and a little ring of stuffing it all was disgusting and I wasn't the only one who complained about there food around the table one even complained that much they got there money back im not one too complain so didn't

Aztetec hotel's spa is disgusting, it's cold

Both the pool and the saunas are cold and full of children going in and out of the saunas and leaving the door open, the jacuzzi is closed but they were letting the children in and out of it, as well as splashing water in the pool and yelling, and understand me, it's a spa, not a public pool.

Totally unacceptable

Called in for a drink 5pm. A group of I think regulars at the bar,one in particular tall,short grey hair and tattoos on both forearms never stopped fffing and blinding to the disgust of us and an elderly couple. Male member of staff behind the bar must have heard him and did nothing to tell him from using that language It's obvious they are regulars and think they can do want they want. Who wants to visit a pub and listen to the lowlife talk,I don't for sure.It needs addressing.

Limited spa, limited wifi, overall poor.

Overall the reservation process is poor as they seemed to be expecting one guest despite the reservation clearing stating two guests. Even after check in the staff did not bother updating the room with towels etc for two guests. In summary there is no attention to customer service and the hotel certainly does not make sure a spa is available for residents (even the pool and whirl pool are limited access for children under 14 so kids have limited activties)
