Mismanagement at the Aztec Hotel

We booked and paid for a signature family room, but when we opened the door, there were other people in the room. Quite embarrassing experience as obviously the room was double booked. Eventually we were given a standard double bed room and the sofa was turned into an extra bed for our son. There was no compensation.

I paid for 3 empty rooms out of 4 at the Cottons hotel

Unable to reclaim this expense at work, so I personally lost +£420. I was hoping for some professional interaction and understanding from the hotel but the first time I got silence and on the subsequent occasion, received a direct no at reception. Pretty sure a hotel such as Cottons could have survived without this additional revenue. Will not book any of my clients into Cottons hotel again and warn my colleagues to avoid this hotel.

Terrible food

Food was awful , chips couldn't even eat them , gammon just fat , VERY disappointed, no sorry from staff was refunded on the gammon Won't be going again

An Unmitigated Disaster

The Wedding ceremony: The room for the ceremony was not set up as requested by wedding couple - this was for personal reasons suffice to say they were important. The wedding partys flowers were lost - I was asked by a member of the staff if I knew where they were! And I was a guest! At the time of signing the register, it had gone missing, dispite being provided the day before ceremony. Before it even began, the bride (quite understandably) was in tears due to ineptitude of staff.

Absolutely superb

Myself, wife and daughter are vegan and they made a separate mini buffet for us on a separate table. The food was the best I have ever had for a buffet in a pub. Homemade pizza, garlic bread, salad, spring rolls and an amazing tomato soup. Everything was delicious. Really cannot fault this pub, brilliant and please visit for superb food, great beer choice and friendly smiling faces…perfect.

Won't be back!

Booked a table here a week prior for the first time available, 5pm. Bearing in mind I have a child that needs to do the whole routine for school, we walk in at 4:51pm to be told that it will be at least 15-20 minutes before we get our table. The poor waitress was apologetic, but the manager was not and the girl who told us the bad news at the till couldn’t care less . We used to visit this pub regularly, but this is the second time in a row we’ve had an issue with them.

Another good customer Lost

We have been regular customers at this pub over the years & always had good service and meals . . . until yesterday (Tuesday) lunchtime. You expect three things when you enter a restaurant: to be given a table, a menu & offered drinks. So we were given a table in full sight of the lady in charge and were then ignored for ten minutes, at which point we got up and left. As we left, the lady offered the excuse that there was a problem with the gas in the kitchen.

Overpriced old rusty rotten hotel room for £250

Sofa bed was horrendously inadequate. huge mirror stuck above the main bed, which I was nervous of sleeping under, especially as a boy was killed near us from a large mirror falling off a wall and crushing him. woken up middle of the night by drunk guests parting in the halls, no staff to assist with the noise/behaviour. drinks very over priced, £10 for a glass of Prosecco. service at breakfast was non existent. so expensive for a grimy hotel room.

I will never stay at this establishment again!

It was the noisiest hotel I have stayed in. Doors banging,people shouting and being able to hear what was happening in the room & bathroom was not pleasant. close to the airport so numerous planes flying over. worst was the cleanliness in the bathroom, wall had something smeared across it, the plug holes were disgusting, thick black gunge put me of using the bath or the basin as it was extremely visible.

Very disappointing to say the least

I was looking forward to returning for a Sunday lunch of the highest quality but what I was served fell considerably short. For starters the wife and I shared mussels. I often order mussels as I'm very partial to one from time to time. These were the worst I've ever had the misfortune to eat. Must of been frozen v strange taste. Really really poor. For main I had the lamb rump. At £26 this was quite possibly the most overpriced meal over ever eaten. 3 small tiny fatty pieces of lamb.

Wheelchair users Not Welcome

Tried staying here as a wheelchair user wanting to simply sleep, eat, wash and shower BUT despite booking a wheelchair accessible room this is not possible at at this 4**** hotel. They told me my only option was to use the spa facilities which were some 100m from my room. MOST UNWELCOME AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU ARE A WHEELCHAIR USER !!!
