Another good customer Lost

We have been regular customers at this pub over the years & always had good service and meals . . . until yesterday (Tuesday) lunchtime. You expect three things when you enter a restaurant: to be given a table, a menu & offered drinks. So we were given a table in full sight of the lady in charge and were then ignored for ten minutes, at which point we got up and left. As we left, the lady offered the excuse that there was a problem with the gas in the kitchen.

I will never stay at this establishment again!

It was the noisiest hotel I have stayed in. Doors banging,people shouting and being able to hear what was happening in the room & bathroom was not pleasant. close to the airport so numerous planes flying over. worst was the cleanliness in the bathroom, wall had something smeared across it, the plug holes were disgusting, thick black gunge put me of using the bath or the basin as it was extremely visible.

Remortgaged my house for a G&T...

I came on a pub crawl night out with friends and I ordered a gin and tonic at the bar. I was asked for £8.30 and when I questioned why it was so expensive (it was a single!)- I was told because it was a Tanqueray?! I showed them the gin menu where it said £6.50 and the barmaid wasn't having any of it. I reluctantly paid and left. £8.30 for a G&T? Won't be back anytime soon...

The food was ghastly

I'm moved to write a review for the first time because I can't believe that someone can spend so much effort on making a restaurant nice but then serve such poor food. I had venison pie with triple cooked chips. The pastry was hard to cut and the filing didn't taste of game nor anything other than the heavy salty sauce it was in. The chips were over cooked, stale and completely tasteless. The only part of the meal that had any flavour was the veg which consisted of a few carrots.

Totally unacceptable

Called in for a drink 5pm. A group of I think regulars at the bar,one in particular tall,short grey hair and tattoos on both forearms never stopped fffing and blinding to the disgust of us and an elderly couple. Male member of staff behind the bar must have heard him and did nothing to tell him from using that language It's obvious they are regulars and think they can do want they want. Who wants to visit a pub and listen to the lowlife talk,I don't for sure.It needs addressing.

Give this place a wide berth

Disgusting asked if Home made told brought in string chicken, fatty bacon and more cabbage than anything then served on bed of cabbage, joke unless you were a rabbit Complained expecting something to be done, told still had to pay full price joke customer service only winner was dog with us as he ate it as it was only fit for dog My fish n chips chips under cooked batter soggy Definable year not worth the money

So very disappointed

We dined there this evening! My partners starter & main course was ok but my food was hugely disappointing. My starter was smoked salmon with prawns “ and the salmon was dried around the edges plus the prawns where tasteless and a strange shade of green “ I understand it was ment to be a verde sauce” but the presentation and taste was yuk!! Partner main lasagne & he say was just ok! The pasta was hard.

Well below par.

Disappointing. My favourite place to go in Blackburn and today was not very nicè the chicken Kiev was dry and the garlic tasted bitter there was th salt already on the chips then the gammon was placed on the chips witch is char grilled so the gammon went really salty and the chips went black . Plus was quite cold. by the time I got table checked it was too late and seemed pointless complaining .
