Terrible food

Food was awful , chips couldn't even eat them , gammon just fat , VERY disappointed, no sorry from staff was refunded on the gammon Won't be going again

Gorgeous country pub

Just what you needed on a miserable Misty cold day. Roaring fire and cosy oldie worldy decor. Lots of parking. Very pleasant staff. The fish butty ( on a brioche bun) & mushy peas also with skinny fries. The beer battered haddock was beautiful. The goosnargh chicken BLT on brioche was also spot on and will definitely return. Highly recommended

Poor service,

Very poor service on my visit,the food nothing special,pizza tasted like 69p one from tesco.Drinks very expensive.All in all a very poor visit.I won't be going back.

I left Aztec Hotel at 11pm bed was too uncomfortable

Room wasn’t ready on arrival bed wasn’t made up until 5pm! The extra bed was given a single quilt inadequate for a double bed. Room was too small even though I had spoke to property twice about number of guests. Bed was uncomfortable and dangerous has sharp metal down the side. Really bad for children staying in the room.

Overpriced old rusty rotten hotel room for £250

Sofa bed was horrendously inadequate. huge mirror stuck above the main bed, which I was nervous of sleeping under, especially as a boy was killed near us from a large mirror falling off a wall and crushing him. woken up middle of the night by drunk guests parting in the halls, no staff to assist with the noise/behaviour. drinks very over priced, £10 for a glass of Prosecco. service at breakfast was non existent. so expensive for a grimy hotel room.

Thats our first last time we will come here.

We visited as a family and we were not impressed. The layout is not accommodating nor warm, the food was not great. I personally ordered the Haloumi starter which lacked flavour and texture and for mains I ordered the chicken and ham pie which tasted odd and had perfectly squared chicken pieces in a white sauce with chunky pieces of bacon; similar to that you get a KG of for a few quid along with a mass produced pastry lid.

Well below par.

Disappointing. My favourite place to go in Blackburn and today was not very nicè the chicken Kiev was dry and the garlic tasted bitter there was th salt already on the chips then the gammon was placed on the chips witch is char grilled so the gammon went really salty and the chips went black . Plus was quite cold. by the time I got table checked it was too late and seemed pointless complaining .

Absolute rip-off

£25 to check in early? £25 to check out later? Because I used Booking.com, I had to also pay £10 to use the spa facility, which i did'nt, because you cant continue to use the spa after 11am on day of check out. Total con, and £17 for breakfast is truly obscene, I travelled alone but if your a family of 4 breakfast will set you back £68.00!!! Management obsessed with tricking customers out of anything they can. Pathetic actually. Plenty of other hotels in the area, use them instead.

Rip off, avoid at all coste

Absolute rip off!! Do not bother going, save your well earned money and go elsewhere. £10.45 for a pint of shandy and an orange and Lemonade. Absolutely scandalous. When I queried the cost, the bar tender looked sheepishly at the till, she knew it was overpriced and looked embarrassed. How a pub can charge those prices is ridiculous. In a city centre trendy bar I would expect that, not in a local pub.

Food hygiene is a joke.

There were other, potentially serious, problems. Firstly the stale milk, both in my room and at breakfast. This was totally unacceptable, as everyone knows about food hygiene standards nowadays. If that wasn’t enough, the room was on the cramped side, my egg’s benedict has no butter and the waitresses forgot my orange juice. Oh and I had to ask for the complimentary coffee to be placed in my room(with food). How can you charge £180/night for a room and not even provide the free drinks?

Won't be back!

Booked a table here a week prior for the first time available, 5pm. Bearing in mind I have a child that needs to do the whole routine for school, we walk in at 4:51pm to be told that it will be at least 15-20 minutes before we get our table. The poor waitress was apologetic, but the manager was not and the girl who told us the bad news at the till couldn’t care less . We used to visit this pub regularly, but this is the second time in a row we’ve had an issue with them.

Aztec Hotel really bad.

Since the truth is that I am not happy with the hotel, I never find anyone at the reception and even if I call, they do not pick up the phone, yesterday I went to the bar with my card credit card and they told me that they couldn't give me anything because the card was not registered in the room, which doesn't make sense because it's a bar open to the public and I was paying with my card, not putting the money in the room account.
