Absolutely lovely meal
We came across this pub on a drive the other day and decided to book in for lunch. Really cosy style pub with lovely log fires, different seating areas and a large car park. There are amazing views from the back of the pub. Extensive menu with something for everyone and the prices are decent also far too many pubs these days yet to make their menus posh and fancy but this one is great home cooked food and lots of choice.

Won't be back!
Booked a table here a week prior for the first time available, 5pm. Bearing in mind I have a child that needs to do the whole routine for school, we walk in at 4:51pm to be told that it will be at least 15-20 minutes before we get our table. The poor waitress was apologetic, but the manager was not and the girl who told us the bad news at the till couldn’t care less . We used to visit this pub regularly, but this is the second time in a row we’ve had an issue with them.

Limited spa, limited wifi, overall poor.
Overall the reservation process is poor as they seemed to be expecting one guest despite the reservation clearing stating two guests. Even after check in the staff did not bother updating the room with towels etc for two guests. In summary there is no attention to customer service and the hotel certainly does not make sure a spa is available for residents (even the pool and whirl pool are limited access for children under 14 so kids have limited activties)

Gorgeous country pub
Just what you needed on a miserable Misty cold day. Roaring fire and cosy oldie worldy decor. Lots of parking. Very pleasant staff. The fish butty ( on a brioche bun) & mushy peas also with skinny fries. The beer battered haddock was beautiful. The goosnargh chicken BLT on brioche was also spot on and will definitely return. Highly recommended

It’s not a cheap hotel but it felt like it.
We arrived into a dark, stuffy room with view from the window of the main busy road. The aircon was very poor, but opening the window to the sound of cars and Manchesters flight path of continuous planes wasn’t an option. I thought I would grab an extra pillow from the wardrobe - but to was stained and mouldy. I didn’t use the shower or bath - I honestly felt really quite uncomfortable and in the morning following breakfast I couldn’t wait to come home.

Not good enough ?
We had been to a canal gala and drove here for a late Sunday lunch. We were met by a lady who said we could sit at any table that hadn`t got a reserved notice (we are not stupid) and she would follow us through with menus. We found a nice table for two and waited and waited for the lady to appear. We were completely ignored and yet people arriving after us were shown the specials board and given menus. We eventually left without either food or drink.

This place is a joke!
Seriously if you want a shocking evening meal and a rude customer service then this is the place for you. A colleague of mine was waiting 2 hours for his meal and when confronted the manager he was told they was out of steak and is there nothing else he likes off the menu. Seriously for a four star hotel it's a joke the rooms are OK but seriously go somewhere else as this is far from a four star hotel I would class it as a 2 star and thats being generous.

Poor service
So disappointing to have the front of house manager speak to my mum in such a manner. Not sure if the guy is under pressure but really, there is a way to speak to people, whether frustrated or not! Forcing their customers what to order and how much food they can order is beyond disgraceful behaviour!

Came hungry left even hungry!! Not good at all
Ordered a 'special' red tai curry worth £20. Came in a tiny dish, rock hard microwaved rice, raw slimy prawns and a huge dollop of cheap curry sauce. Both soup starters we had came cold and one tasted as though it was drenched in Sambuca! Came hungry left hungry. Expected so much better from other reviews but wont be returning anytime soon! Awful
