Daniel Thwaites versus Web4orce Ltd

daniel thwaites plc recently lost its amazing reputation and notwithstanding that daniel thwaites plc now faces criminal charges involving perverting the course of justice, fraud and conspiracy to defraud in the coming months. this means the outcome will certainly involve daniel thwaites plc and yerburgh family coming under the public spotlight & all that might entail public interest was also recently triggered by news that the firm learned of a new promotional online campaign it also transpired that richard bailey conspired to withhold his statement of truth from the court which is very serious!! web4orce ltd successfully represented by an 85 yr old litigant caused thwaites to lose their claim and £84,000 in costs.

Excellent experience

Good, fresh food well cooked, great value for money. Attentive service but not fussy and very well kept beer! As I found out later that they are award winners. The log fire was lovely and cosy and certainly contributed to the warm friendly pub. We will definitely be back, and not just for our 10% discount.

This place is a joke!

Seriously if you want a shocking evening meal and a rude customer service then this is the place for you. A colleague of mine was waiting 2 hours for his meal and when confronted the manager he was told they was out of steak and is there nothing else he likes off the menu. Seriously for a four star hotel it's a joke the rooms are OK but seriously go somewhere else as this is far from a four star hotel I would class it as a 2 star and thats being generous.

Tired and overpriced

We paid £338 to stay here (£165 B&B and £8 parking). The bar, restaurant and courtyard are modern and inviting but as soon as you climb the stairs to the bedrooms, the cracks begin to appear (literally!). Our room was dark with only a small window and minimum lighting. The bathroom ceiling had mildew and the paint was peeling off. The sink had age lines and the internal doors were knocked and worm.

Simply the best pub in Blackburn

As the title suggests, this is the best pub in the area. Great ale, great staff, great food and great atmosphere. Always something going on. Keep up the good work guys..Just stopped off for one but ended up staying longer , very nice comfortable pub worth a visit.

Restaurant Shocking.

Slow unattractive staff. Food was on this occasion acceptable. Incorrect order constantly asking what is ordered I don’t understand how places like this stay open they are lucky with the lack of competition in the area.

Really nice stay

The staff could not have been more helpful and even when we were asking for things out of the norm all we ever heard was ‘of course you can’ food was as expected, although the chef might need a slight review on streak cooking but on the whole out party enjoyed the food. The breakfast service was equally as efficient and ingredients tasty and importantly nice and hot. Would definitely consider staying here again if in the area.

Never ever have a meal here!

We ordered prawn and smoked salmon cocktail, which at £18:95 seemed a little expensive. What it comprised of was a small piece of smoked salmon and about 8 baby shrimps. ( Prawns they were not and even calling them shrimps would be a stretch.) All on a bed of lettuce. The chips that came with the main course were half cooked, tasteless and difficult to swallow. The linguine had almost the equivalent of two sliced chilli peppers hidden it which completely took away the delicate flavour of the crab

Gorgeous country pub

Just what you needed on a miserable Misty cold day. Roaring fire and cosy oldie worldy decor. Lots of parking. Very pleasant staff. The fish butty ( on a brioche bun) & mushy peas also with skinny fries. The beer battered haddock was beautiful. The goosnargh chicken BLT on brioche was also spot on and will definitely return. Highly recommended

Stopped by here on our way to the coast.

Given a warm friendly welcome by the barmaid we ordered drinks and asked if they were serving food told sorry no finishes at 2pm, it was 2.03pm.However off she went to check with the kitchen and told yes you can order food, and that's what you call customer service. We both ordered club sandwich and oh boy was it worth the wait, toasted bloomer with a side of fries and side salad. It was absolutely gorgeous and a huge portion.

What afternoon tea?

Receptionist had our names booked in but on entering the restaurant was told they were not expecting us and asked us to wait!! The picture on the website is nothing like what was put in front of us! Sandwiches bland and thrown on the plate !! Restaurant staff huffing and puffing down his nose when asked for something, its not as if the restaurant was full, six of us and another family!!....... Afternoon Tea needs to be taken off the Menu!!

What a shame ...

It's quite simple. If I order steak and ale pie in a beautiful old pub with a pint of Thwaitses, I expect my chips to be fresh out of a chip pan - not chips that have been cooked (probably in an oven) and kept warm in an oven until being served - lukewarm and a bit dry. Basically, if I want oven chips I can have them at home. So it's a BIG thumbs down from me. Shame.

Expensive and poor quality

Firstly we were not allowed to pick our own seats and were shown to a dark corner, the pub was very cold and when the meal arrived I was presented with undercooked veg and slices of turkey which had no taste at all and looked very much like the thinly sliced turkey you get in a supermarket, in fact I have had tastier turkey from a supermarket. The tastiest part of the meal were the mashed carrots. Felt it was money wasted and I will definitely not be eating here again. Don't usually write review
